1. Overview

This Privacy Policy describes how GPT Desk ("GPT Desk", "we", "us", or "our") handles information when you visit the GPT Desk website or use the GPTDesk for ChatGPT Chrome extension.

The extension is intended to improve how users manage long ChatGPT conversations. It adds structure inside supported ChatGPT pages, including folders, nested folders, bookmarks, message notes, quick overview navigation, and context compaction workflows.

2. What Information We Handle

Depending on how you use the product, GPT Desk may handle the following categories of information:

  • conversation identifiers from supported ChatGPT URLs
  • conversation titles visible in the ChatGPT sidebar
  • message identifiers from the ChatGPT page DOM
  • short message text excerpts used for bookmark previews
  • user-created folders, colors, bookmarks, and notes
  • extension settings and feature preferences
  • contact information you choose to send when emailing us or joining a waitlist

GPT Desk does not require you to create a GPT Desk account to use the current website or extension.

3. How We Use Information

We use information only for narrow product purposes, including to:

  • organize conversations into folders and nested folders
  • show bookmarks, notes, and quick long-chat overview tools
  • store feature settings and user preferences
  • help users continue long workflows with less context bloat
  • respond to support requests or direct emails you choose to send
  • operate and secure the website

We do not use extension data for personalized advertising, data brokerage, or unrelated profiling.

4. Website Data

The GPT Desk website is primarily informational. If you browse the site, standard technical request data may be processed by hosting or infrastructure providers as part of normal website delivery, such as IP address, browser type, request metadata, and basic server logs.

If you contact us by email or use a mailto link such as hello@gptdesk.space, we will receive the information you choose to include in that message. We use that information only to respond, provide support, or manage product interest and follow-up communication.

The current website does not require sign-up and does not intentionally ask for more personal information than is necessary to reply to a support or waitlist message.

5. Extension Storage and Local Data

GPT Desk stores core extension data locally in the browser using chrome.storage.local.

This local data may include:

  • folders and nested folder metadata
  • conversation metadata used by the extension
  • bookmarks
  • notes
  • settings

At the time of this policy version, GPT Desk does not send those saved folders, bookmarks, notes, or settings to GPT Desk-operated remote servers for syncing, analytics, advertising, or resale.

6. Sharing and Transfers

We do not sell or rent personal information. We do not share your saved extension data with advertisers or data brokers.

We may rely on standard infrastructure, hosting, email, or website delivery providers to operate the site and handle direct communications you initiate. Those service providers may process information only as needed to provide their services.

If we are required by law, regulation, or valid legal process, we may disclose information to comply with those obligations or to protect our rights, users, or the security of the service.

7. Extension Permissions
